NZ Ninja Sprint Rules
The race will start on the pad before the balance beam
You must not leave the pad before the clock starts and have both feet firmly on the pad before you are told to start
You must follow the course as it is laid out and stick to your lane, if you start on the left lane, you will always be on the left lane, same as if you start on the right lane
You will have 2 attempts at each obstacle, if you fail both times you may continue but will incur a 15 sec time penalty
The floor is Lava - other than the start and finish of each lane, if you touch the floor you must attempt the obstacle again
Gloves are allowed to be worn but chalk is not to be used
The Race Director’s decision is final, if you want to contest a decision this must be done by 5pm Saturday 23rd February
It is the athletes responsibility to know and understand all of the rules
If there is rain, the course will be dried before you can commence
Non-completion of the warped wall will result in disqualification, this is the final obstacle and must be completed
There is a 10 minute time cap - if you have not finished the course in 10 mins you will be disqualified
Balance Beam
Start with 2 feet on the red pad
If you fall off, you must start again from the red pad
you have 2 attempts
Traverse Bag
You can wrap your whole body around the bag
You must not touch the chain
You have 2 attempts
You must not touch the ground!
Rings
You can use 1 or both rows of rings
You must only touch the rings, do not touch the chains
You may skip rings
You have 2 attempts
You must not touch the ground!
Teeter Totter
You can jump to reach the first teeter totter
You can use the ring in the middle
You have 2 attempts
You must not touch the ground!
Inverted Mountains
You must be upside down
You can use your hands and feet
You must not touch the yellow safety pad below you
You have 2 attempts
You must not touch the ground!
Spider Wall
You must use your hands and feet only
Your back must not touch the wall
You have 2 attempts
You must not touch the ground!
Trapeze
You may lache between bars
You can skip bars, you do not have to touch them all
You have 2 attempts
You must not touch the ground!
Nets
You can use your hands and feet
You can not touch the yellow safety mat at all
You have 2 attempts
You must not touch the ground!
Thread The Needle
You dont have to touch every bar or ring
You have 2 attempts
You must not touch the ground!
Lily Pads
You can hold on to the hanging chains
You must touch every pad with your feet
You have 2 attempts
You must not touch the ground!
Waves
You must only touch the red wave and not the chains
You dont have to hold on to just 1 side
You can lache between cross bars
You have 2 attempts
You must not touch the ground!
Baskets X 2
You can touch any moving parts
You can swing in any direction
You have 2 attempts
You must not touch the ground!
Chain Link
You must only hang from the yellow rings, not the chains
You can skip rings if you like
You can use your hand and feet or just hands
You have 2 attempts
You must not touch the ground!
Cheeseboards
You cannot touch the hanging chains
You cannot touch the framing for the obstacle next to you
You have 2 attempts
You must not touch the ground!
Walls
You must jump up and over both walls and not touch the sides
You must stay in your lane and not drift over to block your component
You have 2 attempts
You must not touch the ground!
Tarzan Swing
The rope will be handed to you
You swing from 1 red pad to the other and you must touch each of the pads
You have 2 attempts
You must not touch the ground!
Warped Wall
You start on the ground just after the tarzan swing
You may use the rope if there is one there
You have 2 attempts, non-completion = disqualification, this obstacle is a compulsory completion
This is the last obstacle, once you reach the top of the warped wall, the clock will finish once you place at least 1 hand, flat, on the marked square at the top
